Margaret "Marge" Vitale

Marge was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived there until she moved to Secaucus in 1963. While in Jersey City she met daily with her three sisters and mother for cake and coffee. The Andriola sisters were a tight knit group that vacationed together at the Jersey Shore and raised their children together. A few years after moving to Secaucus, Marge returned to work in 1968 working part-time for Metropolitan Life Insurance in New York City for 18 years. She and Frank enjoyed family gatherings and traveling and, in their later years visited Frank’s family in Italy. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother and kept up with everyone’s activities. She and Frank made many trips to Grand Rapids, MI to visit their granddaughters and in 2005, at the age of 80, Marge relocated to Grand Rapids after Frank’s passing.

With her easy-going nature and optimistic outlook, Marge adjusted to the Midwest very quickly. She made trips to visit her daughter Patty and son-in-law Bill in California and did some traveling. Marge attributed her long life to being able to relax and minimize stress.

Marge is survived by her son, Gary and daughter-in-law Karen, daughter, Patricia Averett, granddaughter Brynn Bailey (John) and granddaughter Jillian Gabrielsen (Daniel) and great grandchildren Mia and Caroline Bailey and Wesley, Jack, and Beckett Gabrielsen. Marge was predeceased by her husband Frank, her mother and father, Marie and Pasquale Andriola, her sisters, Mary LeFante, Josephine DiNicola, Anna Guazzo, her brother Albert Andriola, and her son-in-law William Averett.

Marge taught us all about living a life of grace and the importance of family. We treasure our memories and will love her forever.

A visitation for Margaret will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A committal service will occur Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd., North Arlington, NJ 07031.
