Martin W. Kern Jr.

Martin W. Kern Jr., known to many as Bill, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at the age of 87, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 9, 1939, to the late Martin Sr. & Walburga (Mueller) Kern in Manhattan New York. Martin and his family settled in Secaucus before relocating to Burlington, NJ about three years ago. He was a Refrigeration Engineer for Honeywell in Teterboro, NJ where he worked for many years before retiring in 1999. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the Secaucus Masons for over 58 years, belonging to both the Hudson and Blue Stone Lodges.

Martin was the Loving husband of Renate (Delling) Kern for 57 wonderful years; the Devoted father of Peter Kern and his wife Sheila, Janice Koehne and her partner Robert Green, and Stephen Kern and his wife Adrienne; and the Cherished Opa (Grandpa) of Alexis Kern, Emily Kern, Kylie Koehne, Colton Koehne, and Elizabeth Kern. Martin was also predeceased by his beloved son-in-law, Eric Koehne, the late husband of Janice, and by his sister Bertha Heidelmeier; as well as many loving extended family members and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ on Wednesday July 1, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00pm with a religious ceremony taking place at 7:00 pm. Cremation will be private.
