Jody was a lovely person, a talented pianist and musician, wonderful friend, well-read and an engaged citizen of the world. We met at Oberlin College and rekindled our friendship some 15 years ago through an Oberlin reunion. She was devastated when Dan died. I hope they are reunited.

I, too, knew Jody from junior high school in Deerfield Beach, FL. She was so talented with singing in the chorus and her piano skills. I was in awe of her talent and yet she was so down to earth and made friends easily. She sent me an email around 10 years ago, so we got reacquainted and were regular email pals from then on. I will miss out chats. She was such a lovely, caring person. I will miss her terribly!!!

Her name is Mary Josephine Wise, not Mary Jody Wise. Some of her friends did call her Mary Jo, others called her Jody.

I met Jody soon after Dan's death. We bonded as widows--and through her brief professional relationship with my late husband. Prior to Covid we shared meals out and in my home and we exchanged lengthy emails, about widowing and books, about Dan and their life together.
I never heard her play; she couldn't, after Dan died. Unable to perform herself, she encouraged my own performance. When my recent emails went unanswered, I called yesterday, to find her VM full. In seeking another way to reach her, I was stunned to find . . . this.
To those of you who knew her long and well, who knew her and Dan together, who heard her play: please accept my sincere condolences. I'm in Secaucus; if there's anything I can do, or an organization I may donate to in her memory, please let me know.
In my 20 years of "mentoring" other widows, I've never met any so bereft, so severed from her other half, so alone, despite the support of friends, family, and the peers she reached out to and questioned with relentless, yearning fervor. Remembering my own early widowhood, I rejoice that she's reunited with Dan. I hope her death wasn't painful and I wish strength and comfort to those left behind.

Jody was my college roommate, and in recent years we had been in close touch. News of her passing is devastating, and I extend my deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Jody had been my friend since we were in the 7th grade in Pompano Beach, fl. She was born in WV and her family came to Fl in the 1950's.
An extremely gifted concert pianist, she the traveled the World performing most of her adult life. A graduate of Oberlin Concervatory of Music, she went on to earn a Doctorate Degree.
She was the widow Daniel Fallon who was very well known for his extraodinary classical music knowledge.
I was very sad to hear of her death. We have been phone friends for the past many years and visited regulary especially since after Dan died in 2019.
Rest in peace my precious friend.
I'll see you when we are both are home with the Lord. Thank you for being my friend.
We love you,
Carol and Marlene
