My deepest, heartfelt condolences  on the passing of this fine young man and outstanding police officer.  I had the opportunity to meet Matt on occasions when he was growing up during the time his mom, Michele, and I served on the Clarendon PTA.  He was always so nice and courteous with a smile that would  light up any room.  I was so happy, but not surprised to hear he went on to become a Secaucus police officer. 

Sending much love and strength  during this very difficult time to  his loving parents, Michele, and Jeff,  siblings, AJ and Jenna,  grandparents, and the rest of his family, fellow officers, friends, and all that were lucky  enough  to meet him in this lifetime.

Thoughts and prayers are with the Kirvin family and Matt's loved ones at this time. Matt was such a lovely genuine person who I am so greatful to have had so many fond memories of growing up together in school... from needing to make sure the walkie talkie stayed in range when playing around the park in Clarendon to our days in rock band.  Only a few months ago he shared this old photo and it brought back so many happy memories and smiles! You’ll be deeply missed, Matt. Rest easy.

Tina I am so sorry for your loss. I met Matt a few times and he was so sweet. I can’t imagine how you are feeling but rest knowing he is in the loving arms of God Our Father and he is out of all pain. He will watch over you and your family forever. I am keeping him in my evening prayers 🙏😪🙏

Matt was such a great friend and always looked out for everyone, including myself. You were such a great person inside and out, and your hard work and dedication on the force will never go unnoticed. We will all miss you and continue to rest in peace.

Matt was in my first Secaucus class (1st grade). He was always so kind and one of the best  kids. Years later, my sister and I skated with the Rangers at MSG. You had to bring your own ice skates to participate, which she didn’t own. Matt lent my sister his ice skates so she could go, and we met Adam Graves that day! 🥰🏒🥅 He will forever be a part of that day and forever in my heart. ❤️
