

Born in Jersey City on May 11, 1965 to Joy Aquadro and Michael J. Avoletta Sr., Mike lived in Weehawken for the majority of his life. This is where Mike met his loving wife, Mary, and where they raised their sons, Joseph and Michael. Mike served the Weehawken Police Department for 29 Years, achieving and retiring at the rank of Police Captain.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Mary, his loving children, Michael and his spouse, Luisa, Joseph and his spouse, Natalie, two adoring grandchildren, Gemma and Juliana.
Mike is also survived by his mother, Joy, his father, Mike Sr., his siblings, Kim, Rich, & Vinnie, and many nieces and nephews.
Mike loved his family, the New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Cowboys, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, reading, and attending sporting & concerts with his friends and family.
Mike’s Life Celebration will include visiting on Wednesday, February 25, from 4-8 PM at the Leber Funeral Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 26 at St. Lawrence Church, Weehawken, at 10:30 AM. Friends and family may begin gathering at 9:30 AM, Thursday morning before services at the funeral home. In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation will follow.
