

Gutttenberg,NJ, passed away unexpectedly of complications stemming from Covid19, on April
22, 2020.
She was 77. Miriam was many things to many people - a wife, mother, sister,
daughter, aunt, grandmother, friend, mentor, and a humanitarian.The Matriarch of the Gonzalez
family, she was an incredible source of strength; a fiery,caring, extremely loving person, who
touched everyone she met. She was a woman of great faith, who has also dedicated 30 years
of support for over 100 missionary children sponsorship across the globe. An amazing Chef with
an incredible sense of humor. Her passion was palpable & her energy will never be replaced.
She retired from 35 years of working at “Kmart Corporation” in North Bergen , NJ. She
worked as a Quality Control Merchandise Associate for the women’s clothing department. She
later became a home-health aide & worked for “Sunrise of Edgewater - assisted Senior living”
for 5 years until she fully retired.
She is predeceased by her parents Carlos Banegas & Enriquetta Diaz Banegas, her
oldest sister Belen Banegas and her brother Carlos “ Cachumbo” Banegas, Jr.
She is survived by her life partner Ignacio Rivera, sister Hilda Gonzalez, 3 daughters -Susana E. Garcia,
Roxana Gonzalez-Fales, Tatiana M. Lau. Niece & nephews- Hilda I Gonzalez, Alejandro
Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez. 7 grandchildren- Mark A. Garcia, Steven Garcia, Bianca B. Garcia,
Aaron Garcia, Talia R Fales, Tiara Fales and Tiffany Fales.
