Phyllis Ann Spiegel

Born on July 19, 1937, Phyllis grew up in Port Jervis, New York. She later moved to Jersey City, New Jersey, before settling in North Bergen, where she made her home. One of many brothers and sisters, Phyllis came from a large family and carried a deep appreciation for family throughout her life.

Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Spiegel. Together, they built a family and shared many years of life together.

Phyllis was the proud mother of seven children—five sons and two daughters. She was preceded in death by two of her sons, Albert Spiegel and Edwin Spiegel as well as her son-in-law, Ted Michon.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Kenneth Spiegel and his wife, Rose; Cheryl Rivera and her husband, Nick Rivera; Nancy Michon; Charles “Dan” Spiegel and his wife, Doreen; Peter Spiegel and his wife, Dawn; Claire Spiegel, wife of the late Albert Spiegel; and Patrice Spiegel, wife of the late Edwin Spiegel.

She also leaves behind many grandchildren: Kenny Spiegel, Joe Spiegel, Frank Rivera and his wife Marianna, Mercedes Rivera, Jessica Lopatynski and her husband Dave, Meghan Maddalena and her husband Paul, Lacey Spiegel, Kyle Spiegel and his wife Michelle, Lauren Spiegel, Nicole Spiegel Michelle Spiegel Theresa Michon, Catherine Saunders and her husband Kenneth, Danny Spiegel and his wife Ashley, Tim Spiegel and his wife Cheislyn, Tori Spiegel and Samantha Spiegel.

Her great-grandchildren: Brooke, Anthony, Brynlee, Klara, Adam, Timothy, Lucas and Lyla who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Throughout her life, Phyllis was a hardworking woman who took pride in providing for her family. She worked as a crossing guard for many years, a

role that allowed her to look out for and protect the children in her community.

Phyllis will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and the many years she shared with the people she loved. She faced life’s challenges with perseverance and cherished spending time with her family.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and carry her memory in their hearts. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on through the generations that follow.

Phyllis was deeply loved, and she will never be forgotten.
