Rose Vivian Sardone

Rose Vivian Sardone, 90, of Weehawken, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, after a courageous and lengthy battle to keep her medical conditions in check. Born in Union City on July 14, 1935 to the late Vito and Anna Sardone. Rose moved to North Bergen, NJ, and then to Weehawken, NJ, where she lived for approximately 35 years before entering the C.C. Harborage Nursing Facility, living there for the last 2 1/2 years.

Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her sister Angela "Lena"(John) Giannuzzi, brothers August (Lillian) Sardone and Dominic Sardone. She is survived by her devoted and faithful Niece Angela "Cookie" De Vito, and additional nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Rose always had a special place in her heart for her very dear friends and companions, Larry and Chuck. In her 90 years, Rose accrued many friends, whether during her travels, especially to Aruba, or just sitting in her "little backyard" socializing with neighbors. Everyone took care of Rose especially her neighbors, the Stefanakis Family.

Rose's life celebration will include visitation on Wednesday, March 18th, 3:00 - 8:00 PM at the Leber Funeral Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 19th, at 10:30 AM at Sts. Joseph & Michael RC Church, 1314 Central Ave., Union City, NJ (corner of Central Ave., & 14th Street). Rose will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

A Committal Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031, US, on March 19, 2026, from 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm.
