James L. Barnaba (97) and Ruth E. Barnaba (94) passed away on October 26th and November 30th, respectively, in Sweetwater, TN after being married for more 72 years. They were both born and graduated from High School in Jersey City, NJ and moved to Waldwick with their young family in 1954. James worked for Western Electric and was very active in the Telephone Pioneers of America dedicating countless hours to community service through that organization. Ruth worked as a Secretary/Receptionist for Arms Printing once her children were all in school and was an active member of the Woman’s Club. They were members of the Waldwick United Methodist Church until they relocated to Port St. Lucie, Florida. Ruth and Jim were very active in their community of Vista St. Lucie for more than 25 Years, participating in all manner of activities and travel with their large circle of friends. James and Ruth lived by the words “Family is Everything”. They are survived by their three children, John Barnaba and wife Michelle, James Barnaba and wife Maryann and Debra Sciarretta and husband Richard, Four Grandchildren, Keith Barnaba, Tracy Murphy, Lizanne Browning and David Barnaba and Five Great-Grandchildren, James P. Barnaba, Sydney Barnaba, Gracie Barnaba, Jackson Browning and Emilia Browning. They were extremely close to their many nieces and nephews in Florida, New Jersey and North Carolina. Ruth and Jim had an incredibly rich and long life together and their loving marriage is an inspiration to us all. The Family will greet friends at Mack Memorial Home in Secaucus, NJ on Wednesday, December 5th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. On Thursday, December 6th a 10:30 AM service will be held at the funeral home, followed by Interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
