Born on September 28, 1927 to the late Fred and Albertina Glindmeyer, Ruth was a life-long resident of Secaucus. She graduated from Union Hill High School in 1945 and worked as an Administrative Assistant in NYC. She was employed for 25 years with the Secaucus Board of Education before retiring in 1992. Ruth was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Secaucus and was active for many years in the Ladies Aid organizing bake sales and other community service projects. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and a member of the Secaucus Seniors Club. Ruth was an avid reader, bowler, and bocci ball player. She had a love for crossword puzzles, root beer floats, crocheting, and all things Jeopardy. She touched the lives of so many during her 93 years and will forever be loved and missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Edward and his wife Sandra, and Susan Montone and her husband Douglas; devoted grandchildren, Douglas Montone and his wife Jennifer, Alyssa Montone, Julianne Montone and Joshua Flora; and cherished great grandchildren, Amelia and Andrew Montone. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Edward L. Flora and brother Henry Glindmeyer.
A visitation for Ruth will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. A prayer service will be held on Monday, April 12th at 11:00am at the funeral home followed by her interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
