Tekla Andrejczak, 88, of Hatfield and formerly Secaucus, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 surrounded by her family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Andrejczak, who died in 2017.
Born in Smerekoviec, Poland in 1930, she was a daughter of the late Petro & Fotyna (Perun) Wasiczko.
Tekla was a devout Catholic and enjoyed Sunday Mass. She meticulously maintained her house and property, and was known for her large flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed hosting friends and neighbors in the back yard during the 40 years she and Michael lived in Secaucus. Tekla also enjoyed taking trips to New York City, and was employed in Lower Manhattan for 40 years. She was overjoyed seeing Pope John Paul II, just a few steps away from her when he came to New York City. She is also remembered for her love of cats, “marathon shopping trips,”and the way she devoted her time to help care for her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, John Andrejczak, Janine McInerney (Tim), Nancy Morrow (Craig); and her grandchildren, Janine, Michael, Catherine, Jacqueline, and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wasyl Wasiczko, and her sister, Anna Maggiacomo.
Relatives and friends will be received by her family on Friday, July 12 after 6:00 and until 8:00 p.m. in the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale and again on Saturday, July 13, after 9:00 a.m. and until 10:00 a.m. in Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, NJ 07094. Her Funeral Mass will be held in Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, adjacent to the funeral home, at 10:45 a.m. Interment will be held privately.
