Violet was born in Chapleau, Ontario, Canada and came to the United States in 1949 where she met her husband Charles F. Baumann. Together they resided in Secaucus until his death in 1975. During World War II Violet served in the Canadian Army as an X-Ray technician. Before retiring, Violet work in Customer Service for United Parcel Service. In her later years, she was content staying home and enjoying her family.
Violet was one of seven siblings. Her sister Shirley Nixon Duncan, still resides in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Violet was the beloved mother of Barbara (Donald) Kennedy and Catherine (Joseph) Finkel. She was predeceased by her son Charles (Janice) Baumann. Affectionately known as ‘Gee-mom” or “GG,” she was the grandmother of Stephen Kennedy, Brian (Melissa) Kennedy, JamiLyn (Daniel) Hook, Christina Finkel, and one great-grand child, Paige Violet Kennedy. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews here in the United States and Canada.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Quimby Church PO Box 2124, Secaucus, NJ 07094. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 10:00AM with funeral services following at 11:00 AM at the Mack Memorial Home 1245 Paterson Plank Rd. Secaucus. Burial will be private.
