Amber Lee Leyba (Bailey), Forever 42, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born on September 12, 1983, in Wharton, Texas, USA, to James Jay Bailey and Vanessa Rae (House) Bailey. Amber spent her early years in Texas before moving with her family to Shawnee, Oklahoma. She attended school in McLoud, where she built many lifelong friendships and developed the caring, outgoing spirit that would define her life. Amber married the love of her life, Salome “Ray” Ramone Leyba, after just their second date – a story that perfectly reflected the certainty and depth of their love. As a devoted Marine wife, she proudly supported her husband throughout their journey together, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love in the craziness with a house full of boys. Above all else, Amber was a proud and devoted mother to her three sons, Braeden, 19, Gavin, 17, and Easton, 14. Being a “boy mom” was her greatest joy. She rarely missed a game, match or sporting event, cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines and celebrating every accomplishment, big or small. Her boys were the center of her world and the love of her life . Amber found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved cooking and baking for those she loved, filling her home with delicious meals and sweet treats. She adored her flock of chickens affectionately calling them her “little mommas”. She had a beautiful love for music and singing and could often be found filling her home with songs and laughter. She got her love of music from her dad. Known for her generous heart and welcoming spirit, Amber made friends wherever she went. She had an incredible gift for making everyone feel like family. Her home was a gathering place where friends and loved ones were always welcomed with open arms. Her first best friend was her sister, Melissa, whom she shared many crazy times with. She treasured the many friendships she built throughout her life, especially the special bond she shared with her two best friends, Jennifer Guinn and Ryan Mehan. Amber was also a proud sister to Jeremy (Kristi) Bailey and Melissa (Leroy) Ake, and a loving aunt to Nicole, Kristian, Trent, Taylor, Lauren, Grayson and Jackson. She was blessed to be part of a large family that includes many beloved aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and great- nephew and niece, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as her in-laws, Big Ray and Mary Leyba. Amber’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, hospitality, unwavering love, and selfless devotion to her family and friends. She leaves behind countless memories of backyard gathering, home-cooked meals, music, and heartfelt conversations. Her love touched every life she encountered, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Amber had a way of enchanting every person that she met. Though the time with us was far too short, Amber’s love lives on through her husband, children, family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her. She will forever be remembered for her compassionate heart, joyful spirit, and the incredible way that she made everyone feel loved. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts. The family also wants to make sure to say that they were so thankful for all of the care that so many people gave to her especially her parents, sister, Bo Starr, Aunt Nancy, Kristy Leyba, Shawn and Amie Yennie.
