Barbara J Britt

Barbara grew up in Allen, Oklahoma, before moving to Seminole, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1951. She began her career at OG&E before marrying the love of her life, Terrell Britt, on November 27, 1953. Together they built a life of faith, hard work, and family. Barbara and Terrell owned the Sonic in Seminole, where she could often be found working the lunch rush. They also operated Britt Limousin Cattle Ranch.

Barbara devoted much of her life to being a homemaker, and her kitchen was the heart of her home. She was known for her legendary breakfasts, desserts, and pies, always cooking with love for her family. She also enjoyed shopping trips, especially to Dillard’s, Kohl’s, and JCPenney. More than anything, Barbara treasured supporting her grandchildren, rarely missing a sports game or dance competition.

Barbara always loved being pampered and looked forward to every hair appointment.

Her faith was central to her life, and her favorite scripture was Psalm 23, a verse that gave her strength and comfort. Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart, her ability to see the best in everyone, and the love she shared so freely.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Britt, mother, Nora Lee Morris, and father, Chuck Morris.

Barbara is survived by her brother, John Morris and his wife Beverly of Seminole, OK; son, Randy Britt and wife Audra of Seminole, OK; son, Roddy Britt and wife Glenda of Shawnee, OK; and son, Terry Britt of Chicago, IL. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: granddaughter Kasey Britt-Davis and spouse Heather Davis of Moore, OK; grandson Jacob Britt and wife, Melissa of Moore, OK; granddaughter Scotlyn Britt of Shawnee, OK; and granddaughter Taylor Britt Voss and husband Garrett of Edmond, OK.

Barbara’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A graveside will occur Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Resthaven Funeral Home.
