Bobbie Beasley went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 31, 2025. Bobbie was born December 7, 1933, as her given name, Norma Delaine. She was nicknamed Bobbie Jean as a young girl, and Bobbie Jean became her name that we all knew and loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewel Smith and Woodrow Barker.
Bobbie married Leon Beasley and they were married more than 60 years when he passed away in 2012. Bobbie is survived by their four children, Pam Finley, Debbie Wilsie, Steve Beasley and his wife, Michelle, and Judy Gentry and her husband, Carey. Bobbie will join the love of her life, Leon, her son-in-law, Jim Wilsie, and her great grandson, Gunner Pearson in heaven.
Bobbie’s family was the joy of her life and she spent her days loving, serving and cooking for them! She and Leon enjoyed playing golf together, playing bridge with many friends, and cheering for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Bobbie served the Lord her entire life at Wallace Avenue Baptist Church. She was a light to many and welcomed many OBU students in their home. After retirement, Bobbie and Leon traveled all around the United States, visiting all 50 states, on more than one occasion! They loved an afternoon drive and often had no destination - just time together. Bobbie and Leon left a legacy to put others before yourself and to keep the Lord first in their decisions. Their commitment to each other and their unconditional love for family was deeply shared through their hospitality, generosity, compassion and joy for life.
Bobbie worked many years at State Farm Insurance for Albert Wiley and later Chris Rick. She enjoyed serving customers and providing a smile to all those who walked through State Farm Insurance doors - we can hear her sing the jingle “State Farm Insurance”.
Bobbie’s life revolved around kids - her own, her grands, her greats, and anyone else who walked through the doors at 1213 Rose Drive. She could cook something out of nothing it seemed, but always had a treat for everyone who dropped in. Her grandchildren loved Granny’s treats! They are Brian Finley and wife, Nikki; Chad Wilsie and wife, Carisa, Amy Area and husband, Blake; Scott Beasley and wife, Dara, Carly Cole and husband, Wade, Kyle Beasley and Jacy Musshafen, Brandon Robison and wife, Heather, Amber O’Connor and husband, Paul; Todd Gentry and wife, Lyndsey and Cara Pearson and husband, Curtis. Bobbie’s great grandchildren loved Great Granny so - they are Parks Finley, Piper and Beckett Stricklin, Isaiah, Carly and Kylee Wilsie, Eleanor and Ingrid Area, Brock Beasley, River Cole, Corbin and Westley Robison, Walker and Dakota Gentry and Rhett, Gunner and Fisher Pearson.
Please join us in the Celebration of Bobbie’s life Monday, August 4, at 2:00 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service. Viewing will be Monday between 10:00 and 1:30.
