Cary was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud "Old Dad." Family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in providing for and caring for those he loved. His greatest joy was his granddaughter Abby, with whom he shared many cherished moments watching Abby play fast-pitch softball and television shows together like Tom and Jerry. Known for his sense of humor and constant smile, Cary was the heart of every gathering—a true jokester who could light up any room.
A music enthusiast, Cary enjoyed all genres and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably during Desert Storm. Cary’s patriotism and love for his country were evident to all who knew him.
Cary leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Christina Sledge; his daughter and son-in-law, Hannah Sledge-Gregory and Matthew Gregory; granddaughter, Abby Gregory; his son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Hudson and Lauren Dull; granddaughter, Madison Hudson; his daughter, Bailey Rodriguez; granddaughter, Rae Amburn; his brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Shelly Sledge; and many nieces and nephews: Kali Sledge, Emily Longo, Kody Rust, Allison Davidson, Ian Davidson, and Scotty Hazelwood; cousins: Kara Basler, Marcus Ticer, Kevin Paxton, and Krista Dudley.
He is also remembered fondly by his aunts: Linda Paxton, Francie Guerrero, and Sherry Basler; uncle, Craig Sledge; along with numerous cousins and extended family members.
Cary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his unwavering love, laughter, and loyalty to his family and country.
