Chester Reese

Chester Richard Reese, 71, of Checotah passed away December 18, 2019. He was born April 23, 1948 in Shawnee to Chester William and Ruth Iris Reese. Rick loved his wife, daughters and held a special place in his heart for his mom and brother. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, flying airplanes. He also owned and loved watching race horses. He served his country in the United States Army as a physicians assistant. He worked at Tinker Air Force Base, Rockwell and DP manufacturing before retiring from McAlester Ammunitions Depot. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marsha Ponder; children: Monica Sawdaye and her husband, Harry; Naomi Reese and Ruth Ann Reese; 10 grandchildren: 2 great grandchildren: nieces, nephews and extended family; and his favorite niece, Carla Dinsmore and her husband, Greg. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Doyle Reese and Jimmy Reese; and one sister. He was looking forward to the day he would be rejoined with his mom and brother again.

Remember Rick as such a nice guy. Never had a class with him, but enjoyed his friendship. He will be greatly missed.

I went to grade school with Rick at Grove School and Tony Reese both of them were fun to be around... teasing ... jokes...laughing when you needed cheery up..Rick was a good basketball and soft ball player...we did school plays the last was for Christmas we narrated it..Rick ...me..Tony...Tony acted up during practice because we were sitting in chairs on a wooden table...he fell off..Rick jump down to see if he was ok..he got up laughing... After graduation I went to Shawnee Jr high...he graduated after I did...10th grade transfer to Harjo Highschool to play sports...so I didn't see him again..he was my friend I'm 72 yrs old Graduation class of 1965...
