Shawnee resident Clara Mae Collins, 91, passed into the arms of her Lord, surrounded by family August 17, 2010. She was born March 12, 1919 to Cora and Noah Hines in Calvin, Oklahoma. Clara loved Elvis, dancing, playing card and table games and listening to gospel music. She was a long time member of Heritage Baptist Church which she enjoyed attending over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, 1 brother and her beloved husband Norman “Happy” Collins. She is survived by her son Tommy Collins, her grandchildren, Joshua Collins and Amanda Collins, and two great grand children Kaylee and Zoe Frazer. Clara is also survived by one brother, Noah “Sonny” Hines and one sister Ineva Ayers and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be truly missed. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday at 10a.m. at Heritage Baptist Church with Jay Sampson officiating. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heritage Baptist Church.
