

Shawnee resident, Cleo J. McDow, 96, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was born on October 11, 1918, in Canyon, Texas, to Henry and Addie (Pursell) Schultz. Cleo moved to Shawnee in July of 1925. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1936 and then went on to attend Oklahoma Baptist University and graduated in 1940 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. On June 23, 1941, Cleo married George H. McDow. She was a pastor’s wife and worked in many churches throughout her lifetime. Cleo also taught school in Shawnee and Drumright. She was a Trustee at OBU from 1968 to 1971. She always had a kind word and a smile for everyone she met. Above all, she loved her savior, Jesus Christ, her family, and her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George H. McDow; and granddaughter, Angela McDow.
Those left to cherish their memories are her sons and daughters-in-law, George and Sherry McDow and Lynn and Sharon McDow; granddaughters, Davin and John Lenhart, Beth and Michael Deen, and Alanna McDow; grandson, Sean and Lorena McDow.
Visitation will be 1pm-5pm on Sunday. Services will be 2pm Monday, November 17, 2014, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
