Clotilde ‘Coty’ Coria Blocker passed from this life on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in McLoud, OK. Coty was born December 20, 1936 Mexico City, Mexico to Gumersindo and Rosario Chayo Verduzco Coria. She graduated top of her nursing class at Gordon Cooper, Shawnee, OK.
She worked many jobs including owning and operating El Conquistador shop and restaurant, at the Shawnee Medical Center Hospital, at Gordon Cooper Vocational School, and several nursing homes around Shawnee.
Coty’s proudest moments were working in the church, from feeding the hungry, teaching classes, and caring for others.
Her hobbies included crochet and playing her piano. Her favorite vacations were traveling around the world with her sisters and other family members. She also loved to visit her home as a child in Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gumersindo and Rosario Coria, brother Jose Coria, daughter Melody Blocker, and numerous close family members.
She is survived by daughters Doris Kalish and husband Michael, Diane Blassingame and husband Steve, Rosanna Collier and husband Robert, son Robert Blocker and wife Sheryl, brothers Jorge Coria and wife Ana, Alphonso Coria and wife Velia, Gumersindo Coria and wife Andrea, Ignacio Coria and wife Shirley, sisters Elena Acosta and husband Ruben, Ernestina Zamora, Chayo Petechenko and husband John, Carmen Irwin and husband Al, Margarita Portugal and husband Vincente, sister-in-laws Carolyn Blocker, Kathy Blocker, Dorothy Blocker, and the late Shirley Blocker, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and countless nieces and nephews.
