Doris Fern Whitley

Doris graduated from Putnam City High School in 1956 and then married the love of her life, Franklin Whitley in Oklahoma City, OK, on June 1, 1956 and spent the last 61 years together. She was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was very involved with their Women’s Missionary Union. Doris will forever be remembered by her children for her wonderful letters she wrote to them.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Doris is survived by her husband; mother; children, Richard and his wife Kim of Shawnee, OK, Larry and his wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, OK and Frances of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Chris, Chance, Christopher, Danny and Gino; great-grandchildren, Ainsley Watson, Elijah Whitley, Olivia Whitley and Bearett Whitley; sisters, Donna Cooper, Leona Jackson, Vivian Goss and LeeAnn McCoy; brother-in-law, John Whitley of NM, Robert and Marguerite Whitley of Moore, OK.

Visitation will be1:00-5:00pm, Sunday, December 3, 2017. Funeral service will be 2 pm, Monday, December 4, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee.
