

Shawnee, Ok. - Ensey F. Stanfill McAlister, 76, of Shawnee, ended her life's journey to join our Lord and Father, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011. She was born October 11th, 1934, to Bertha and Cue Stanfill in Altus, OK. Ensey graduated from Altus High School. She married Jesse Edward McAlister on Nov. 8th, 1952. In 1967 Ensey went to work for the Department of Human Services as the Warehouse Food Commodity Manager. She retired from there in 1993 after 30 years of service. In 1995, Ensey went back to work part time for DHS as Administrative Support and worked until 2007. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2004 and recently returned to Shawnee to spend as much time as possible with her family.
Ensey was preceded in death by her mother and father, her husband Jesse, brothers, C.L., Bill and Terry and sister, Brenda. She is survived by her three children, daughter Lisa McAlister and husband John Sternweis, two sons, Randy McAlister and daughter-in-law Jann, Perry McAlister and daughter-in-law Brenda, sisters Kay and husband Bill Moore, Lila and husband Phil Hoover, Connie Stanfill-Ford and brother, Ronnie Stanfill and wife Nancy, six grand children, thirteen great grand children and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Ensey was committed to community service, joining the Kiwanis in 1989, serving as distinguished club secretary 1990-2007. Ensey was elected as the first woman Lt. Governor, Division 30, serving 1995-1996, 1989-1999, and serving as the first woman Lt. Governor, Shawnee Division, 2002-2003 and 2005-2006.
Ensey enjoyed world travel, visiting Rome, China, England, Scotland, Australia, Italy, France and many other countries.
Visitation will begin at 12:00pm, Friday, and will continue until the service. Funeral service will be at Resthaven, Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2pm. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery after the service
