

Funeral service for Eric Don Fletcher, 33, of Shawnee, will be at 1:30p.m., Friday, June 20, 2014, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Visitation will be 10 am - 7 pm Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Eric Don Fletcher passed away Monday, June 16, 2014. Eric was born Aug. 15, 1980, to Jerri and Bobby Fletcher at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Eric grew up in Bridge Creek, where he attended school and graduated in 2000.
Eric started his law enforcement career at the age of 21, where he worked for the city of Cromwell. Eric then went to the Noble Police Department, and in 2006, he went to work for Citizen Pottawatomie Police. In 2008, he began his work for the Pottawatomie County Sherriff’s Office. In 2009, Eric was awarded the Deputy of the Year award through the Oklahoma Sherriff’s Association. In 2010, the American Legion awarded Eric with the Medal of Valor. Eric achieved numerous awards and certificates during his law enforcement community career. Eric was well-liked and respected within the law enforcement community. In 2013, Eric became the Highway Safety Officer, and in 2014, Eric was promoted to lieutenant. Eric started his lifelong passion of flying airplanes at the age of 15. At the age of 16, Eric was given his pilot’s license. Eric had his ground instructor license along with his commercial pilot license. He was currently working on his instructor license.
Eric is survived by his mother and father of the home, Jerri and Bobby Fletcher of Shawnee, brother, Josh Fletcher of Minco; brother, Bobby Jr. & wife Cindy, of Oklahoma City; brother , Allen Fletcher of Moore; aunt, Betty Hallemeir of Tulsa; grandmother, Georgia Wren of Del City; and fiance’, Jessie Story of Meeker. Eric was preceded in death by his grandma and grandpa, Jim and Wilma Reed; uncle, James Reed; aunt, Susie Barrick; Grandpa Wren; and aunt, Carolyn Stephenson.
Pall bearers will be members of the Pottawatomie County Sherriff’s Office.
