

Eula Jane (Taber) Gaskill, daughter of Isaac ("Ike") and Emma Jane Taber, was born March 1st, 1915, in Dent, a very small town near Belmont, OK. She and her brothers, Elmer & Pete, learned the principles of hard work early on. Their father died at a very young age, leaving their mother the responsibilities of running a farm while raising her children. She & Pete picked cotton, gathered pecans, fed the animals, etc. Being the oldest, Elmer took care of more demanding tasks such as driving the tractor & cultivating.
Eula attended Shawnee High School and enjoyed all her classes, but had trouble with geometry. The teacher convinced a class mate to help her since he excelled in the subject. That class mate, Thomas David Gaskill, soon became the love of her life, and they were married May 3, 1933.
She experienced life in numerous states due to Tom's career in the petroleum industry. A proud member of Eastern Star, she earned the distinction of Demolay Mom, an organization of which her son Bob was a member.
Upon Tom's retirement, the two settled in Eufaula, OK, along the lakeshore. Their lifetime dream of residing there was cut short when Tom passed away December of 1992. She returned to her home town of Shawnee a few years later. At the age of 93, she relocated to Tucson, AZ to be closer to her daughter. She achieved her goal of living to 102 years old, passing 3 mos.later.
She was superseded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas David Gaskill; son Robert Austin Gaskill; brothers C. J. "Pete" Taber & Elmer Taber.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Etta King; Grandchildren, Thomas Montgomery Gaskill; Mary Kay Williams; Jennifer Jane Janssen; Samantha Leigh Janssen; Great-grandchildren Ross; Reid; Kathryn; Bill; Brian; Sarah; Tommy and numerous other nieces, nephews &'cousins.
