Evelyn Marie Parke

Evelyn Marie (Swanson) Parke, 94, daughter of the late Elmer and Lucy Swanson was born on October 31, 1928 in Iron Mountain, Michigan. She passed away on July 24, 2023 at the Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Evelyn attended Florence, Wisconsin High School and graduated with the class of 1946. She married Glenn Earl Parke in 1950 and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked as a bookkeeper. In 1975 they moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma when Glenn was transferred with the Allen Bradley Company.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lucy Swanson, her brothers, Carleton and William Swanson, and her husband Glenn. She was employed at Central Plastics Company in Shawnee until her retirement in 1992.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Jeff Parke of Baraboo, WI; daughter, Lori and husband Bill Wion of Shawnee, OK; and son, William and wife Shelly Parke, Stillwater, OK. Her grandchildren: Jordan Parke, Geoff Parke, Kelsey and Ty Clem, Richella Singers, Travis Hill and her great- granddaughter, Nora Evelyn Parke, and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma after a private ceremony.
