Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army April 25, 1944 and served in the 913 Artillery Division in the Pacific Theatre until he was Honorably Discharged March 23, 1946.
After being discharged from the Army, Harold lived in Seminole Oklahoma for many years and that is where he met the love of his life, Beatrice Bernice Pippin at the skating rink. Harold and Bernice married December 2, 1948 and began their family. Two of their children, Paula Jean, Ronnie Wayne, were born in Seminole before they moved to Perry Oklahoma in 1955 where their other two children, Harold Wayne and Garold Dewayne Lindsay were born.
In 1965 they moved back to Seminole and lived there until 1977 when Harold accepted a position with Western Trailer and Equipment and relocated to Abilene Texas where they lived until he retired in 1990. After retiring they moved to Marlow Oklahoma and lived there until 2009 when they moved to Shawnee Oklahoma to be closer to their family.
Harold enjoyed his family, NASCAR, OU Football, Texas Rangers Baseball and Thunder Basketball.
Harold is survived by his wife Beatrice Bernice Lindsay, one Brother Kenneth Dale Lindsay, four children, Paula Simmons of Bethany, Ronnie Lindsay of Chickasha, Harold Jr., and wife Angela Lindsay of Bethel Acres and Garold and wife Ronda Lindsay of Shawnee, eight Grandchildren Kandace, Cara, Ashlee, Adam, Kyle, Julia, James and Danielle and four Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents Mattie and Paul Lindsay, two Sisters Betty Mckinnon and Phyllis Tieman, Brother Bill Lindsay and Great Grandson Derek Justice Doughty.
Services will be at Rock Creek Baptist Church, 44900 Hardesty Rd., Shawnee, OK, Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
