Hershel D. Parsons was born on July 5th, 1924 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and passed away on October 21st 2020 at the age of 96, but he would say he was “39". he married Eveleyn,, the love of his life, in January of 1943. He dearly loved his daughter Cathy. The were inseparable and took care of each other over the last few years In Moore, OKlahoma.. He also loved his family and friends with his whole heart.
Herschel was kind and knew how to do any handyman project and wasn’t shy to tell you the right way to do it. He loved Gardening and had years of planting vegetables and fruits. Hershel and Evelyn liked canning their harvest.. He also had a love for woodworking. He build his first home in Shawnee and passed that love of building to his Grandson Scott.
He worked at the United States Postal service and retired after a successful 21 years of service. Hershel had a warm friendly smile and was always in the service of others. His heart was full and it overflowed to all who knew him.
To miss someone so much means they were extremely special, and we were blessed to have him in our lives. He is in our hearts forever and will always be missed. We know he is happy now with his beloved Evelyn. We are comforted to know he is in heaven, sharing his gifts and smiling down on all of us. I hope and pray that we can continue his passion for love of family and friends.
Hershel was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife Evelyn, and his son in law Jim Crane.
Hershel is survived by his Daughter Cathy Crane; his Grandson James Scott Crane, Scott's wife Catherine Crane; his Three Great grandchildren Baylor, Bryson and Blake Crane and his loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
