James Eugene Moore

James Eugene Moore, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and cherished memories. James was born on April 22, 1937, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Homer Jackson Moore and Anna Melinda (Whited) Moore. A lifelong Oklahoman, James graduated from Shawnee High School, where he earned his high school diploma. In his younger years, he attended Fairview Baptist Church, a place that remained a meaningful part of his early life. On August 3, 1957, James married the love of his life, Alice Faye, at Fairview Baptist Church. Together, they built a life centered around family and the many memories that come from a lifetime shared with those you love. James was a hardworking man who took great pride in his career. He dedicated an impressive 54 years of his life to working as an oil field machinist at Hendershot Tool. His commitment, knowledge, and work ethic were a testament to the kind of man he was—dependable, dedicated, and never afraid of hard work. Outside of work, James enjoyed the things that brought him happiness and excitement. He had a love for hunting, automobiles, and car racing. But perhaps what brought James the greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time with the people he cared about and had a way of making those around him feel welcome. James was known for his ability to laugh and find positivity in life. His laughter, warmth, and outlook on life touched the people around him. He had a way of making this world a little brighter simply by being in it. Those who knew James will remember not only the things he did, but the way he made them feel—the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the positive spirit he carried with him. James is survived by his son, Brian Moore; his caretaker and girlfriend, Marcella Jane Thayer; his three grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Jackson Moore and Anna Melinda (Whited) Moore; his son, Randy James Moore; his sisters, Linda Ann Campbell and Dorothy Helen-Walter; and his brother, Carl Roy Moore. James Eugene Moore leaves behind more than a lifetime of memories. He leaves behind laughter, stories, love, and the lasting impression of a man who cared deeply for his family and brought positivity into the lives of those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him. A Graveside Service at Pavilion will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801, US, on August 7, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Committal will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801, US, on August 7, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 2:45 pm.
