Jerry Dale Goodner

He was born December 4, 1939 in Oklahoma City to John and Vesta Goodner.

Mr. Goodner retired from Western Electric (Lucent Technologies) after 30 years of service as an expert tester in Oklahoma City.

Jerry met the true love of his life Janice and they were married in May of 1962.

In 1983, Jerry and Janice bought land in Macomb to begin their country adventure which included building their home and turning the bare land in to a beautiful retreat for their family. In his early years, Jerry began singing in barber shop quartets. In addition to singing, Jerry was an accomplished woodworker creating furniture and toys. Jerry also enjoyed reading and was most content being at home with his family.

Mr. Goodner is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Goodner and Ollie Goodner; and sister Maziel.

Mr Goodner is survived by his loving wife Janice; sons Gregory (Wanda) Goodner, Thomas (Nancy) Goodner; daughters Denise (Edil) Reyes, and Elizabeth (Roy)Dickinson; grandchildren, Scott, Blake, Keisha, Danielle, Amanda, William, Daniel, Victoria, and Benjamin; siblings, Billie Brown, Cleve Goodner (Phyllis), Anna Maxwell, and John “J.C.” Goodner.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday March 16, 2015 at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb.
