Tecumseh resident, Jimmy Ray Smith, 83, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his home. He was born October 13, 1932 in Shawnee to George Herbert and Irene Kate (Whitehead) Smith. Jimmy joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Shawnee Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Citizen Potawatomie Nation. In his younger days, Jimmy enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Smith; and grandson, Joseph Newman.
He is survived by his children, Tanna Sue Franz, Reva Wolf and husband Brian, Michael Smith, Patrick Smith and wife Evette Martinez; grandchildren, Dana Keys, Tanna Lee Smith, and Miranda Jean Smith; great grandchildren, Tristan Keys, Erica Keys, and Robby Abeyta.
Visitation will be 6pm-8pm on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Services will be 2pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
