

At the age of 17 he entered the Navy serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was assigned to the Patrol Squadron Eleven (PB11) and received the Presidential Unit Citation and Distinguished Flying Cross for his rescues of other servicemen in the Bismark Sea. After the war he married Pauline Moulder in Oklahoma City on September 16, 1949. She has preceded him in death
Joe was blessed to find a second love of his life in Jane Tucker Marrs. They married and made their home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
His career included 23 ½ years of service to the Tulsa Fire Department as a dispatcher. He also owned his own business for television sales and service for over 25 years.
Joe is survived by his wife Jane LaCroix of the home; daughters Rachelle and husband Gary Becker of Broken Arrow; Lynne and husband Rubin Hernandez of California; sons Allen and wife Sheryl LaCroix of Tulsa; and Markus LaCroix of Chouteau. He is also survived by stepdaughters Tommie and husband Max Smith; Angie Ragsdale and friend Tom Hendrichs, and his sister Pat Gaynor of Massachusetts, as well as 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill LaCroix, and sister Marie Santry.
Visitation for Joe will be Wednesday, February 29th from 9am-8pm. His service will be held at Resthaven Chapel on Thursday, March 1st,2012 at 10:00am; with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
