Judy Carol Ramsey died peacefully in her home on December 24, 2019 surrounded by family. Judy was born December 1, 1954 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Judy was the second of Jimmie and Charles Newton’s four daughters.
Judy grew up on a farm west of Shawnee. As a child she roamed the woods, swam in the family pond and celebrated holidays with her family and friends. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1972. She loved her country and looked forward to celebrating the Fourth of July.
Early in life she found her musical gifts and began playing the guitar and singing for all who would listen and join in. Judy married and raised a loving daughter who gave her two beautiful grandchildren. She was a dedicated employee, highly valued by all her employers. She retired with honors from Eglin Air Force Base in 2010 after 23 productive years as an Environmental Specialist in the Civil Service. After retirement she returned to Bethel Acres and lived out her days on the land she grew up on.
Judy walked quietly through life. She was cool. She was funny. She was unique. She was authentic. She loved God, she loved the land, she loved her family and she loved her pets, but especially she loved her daughter and grandchildren with unfailing devotion. Judy was fearless and strong. She embraced life making everyone feel important and valued.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jimmie Drucilla Young Newton, and Charles Delmar Newton of Bethel Acres. Judy is survived by her daughter Jessica Deanne Coker and grandchildren Keshawn Darnell Coker and Kaleb Charles Morgan, all of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
