Judy Lee (Wallis) Shaw Jones

**Judy Lee Wallis Shaw Jones**, born on December 16, 1944, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and deep love. The fourth and youngest child born to Everett and Gladys Wallis, Judy grew up in rural Oklahoma among the wide-open farmland and oil fields outside of Shawnee in Pottawatomie County. Growing up as the youngest of four, Judy developed a keen competitive spirit and natural toughness by keeping up with her family. During her high school years, she put that drive to work and excelled on the basketball court. It was also during high school that Judy met and began dating Bill Shaw. As graduation approached, Judy stood at an exciting crossroads: she received an opportunity to play college basketball for the legendary Wayland Baptist Flying Queens in Texas, as well as a marriage proposal from Bill. Choosing love and family, Judy accepted Bill's proposal—a decision her daughters are eternally grateful for. After marrying, Judy and Bill traveled together for Bill’s work, welcoming their daughters Terri in Spokane, Washington, and Doty in Sacramento, California. While the girls were still young, the family returned home to Shawnee to be close to loved ones. Judy’s deep passion for nurturing children led her and her mother, Gladys, to open the Allison Wonderland Nursery School, touching countless young lives and families with their loving care. Following her mother’s passing, Judy worked in the public school system as a PE teacher and secretary, before transitioning into the banking industry. Her talent and dedication led to a corporate position with the Resolution Trust Corporation, an exciting chapter that took her traveling across the United States. While Judy enjoyed her professional achievements, her true delight was spending time with family and friends and attending local sporting events. Her hospitality was legendary, and she maintained an open-door policy that made everyone feel like family. Her happiest moments were spent hosting gatherings—most notably her annual Christmas Eve Open House. A cherished tradition, the evening always featured a lively reenactment of the Nativity complete with bathrobes, tea towel costumes, and every guest playing a part, while the youngest guest was given the sweet honor of playing Baby Jesus. Judy spent her life surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends she cherished since childhood—a group that grew up attending school and church together, remaining a constant source of love and support throughout her life. She took great joy in being a young aunt and loved all of her nieces and nephews fiercely. Above all, Judy lived a life centered on faith, community, and family. She first attended Fairview Baptist Church, later spent many years as a devoted member of University Baptist Church alongside her family, and in her later years returned to Fairview Baptist Church. Her sweet soprano voice filled the choir, and her joy shone brightest when singing traditional church hymns. On a perfect day, you could find her outdoors working in her flower beds, surrounded by the bright colors she loved—shades of blue, pink, yellow, and soft pastels—or simply laughing and cherishing time with her children and grandchildren. On August 26, 1999, Judy married Chris S. Jones, with whom she shared many wonderful years. After they married, Judy felt deeply blessed to be part of the lives of Chris's daughter, Cozy, and granddaughter, Ayva, when Ayva was born and during her young years. Throughout their marriage, Judy also met and became deeply fond of many members of Chris's extended family in Texas. As Judy aged, her health conditions took their toll, but she always had great joy in spending time with her friends and family. Judy is survived by her loving husband, Chris S. Jones; her children, Terri Lea Malone and her husband Brooks of Shawnee, OK, Doty Jean Case of Ada, OK, and Cozy Jones of Erie, CO; her brother, Jim Wallis; five grandchildren, Tucker Malone and his wife Brittany, Ayva Jones, Erin Case-Farasyn and her husband Aaron, Kelli Case, and Rhyann Case; six great-grandchildren, Briggs, Kallyn Kate, Banks Malone, Niah, Noah, and Remi Case-Farasyn; along with many deeply loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Gladys Wallis; her brother, Ronnie Wallis; her sister, Barbara Ross; her son-in-law, Jeffrey Case; and her great-granddaughter, Juniper Joy Case-Farasyn. Judy will be remembered as an encouraging, deeply caring, and vibrant soul who filled the world around her with song, hospitality, and enduring warmth. A Celebration Of Life will be held at Fairview Baptist Church, 48502 OK-3E, Earlsboro, OK 74840, US, on July 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
