Although born in Missouri, Kari moved to Maud, Oklahoma with her family as a young girl. She later moved to Tecumseh, where she graduated from high school. Affectionately known as “Puddin Head” by her family, Kari was a vibrant spirit—fearless, outgoing, and full of life. She never met a stranger and had a gift for conversation and connection.
Kari is lovingly remembered by her sister, Kelly Sexton and husband Clayton; her brothers: JJ Kitchen and wife Meghan Earley, James Porter and partner Chrisy Craft, and Jason Porter and wife Celcie. She was a proud and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews: Reese, Brody, and Rylie Sexton; Quentin, Max, and Easton Kitchen; and Keaton and Logan Porter. She also leaves behind her special friend, Ellis Talmasey, who held a meaningful place in her life.
Kari was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Lynn Carroll; father, James Lee Porter, Sr.; and her grandparents: Carl and Wilma Eschman, and Glenn and Shirley Porter.
Kari’s warm heart, fearless spirit, and joyful presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
