Today we are here to remember Linda, lovingly known as Mema. Linda was born on August 2, 1949, and passed away on September 25, 2026. She married Walter Ramsey on December 29, 1983. Together, they shared countless memories with their children: Coy, Jerry, Billy, Jackie, Shelia, Barbra, Regina, Lisa, and Brandon. Mema worked for 25 years at the McLoud Nursing Center, where she dedicated her time to caring for others and making a difference in the lives of the people around her. Mema was truly one of a kind. She was quirky, she knew how to have a good time, and, if we’re being honest, she could be a little mean sometimes. But that was simply part of who she was, and we loved her for it. If Mema had a free day, there was a good chance she was headed to the casino or out hunting for a garage sale. She could find a deal like nobody else. She could walk into a garage sale looking for absolutely nothing and somehow come home with something she was convinced she could not live without because it was “a really good deal.” She had a way of making ordinary things more fun, and she leaves behind many memories, countless laughs, and plenty of stories that will be shared for years to come. Mema was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ramsey; her parents, Minnie and Charles Loyd; her grandson, Trevor Meeks; her brothers, Sherman, Melvin, and Junior; and her sisters, Glenda, Wilda, Rita, Ellen and Donna. She is survived by her children, Coy, Jerry, Billy, Jackie, Shelia, Barbra, Regina, Lisa, and Brandon; her brother, Dewayne Brim; her sister, Charlene Pipins; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her extended family; and her friends, who will continue to love her and cherish her memory. Mema was one of a kind, and there will never be another person like her. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. And perhaps, wherever she is, there are plenty of garage sales, good deals, and a casino nearby. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801, US, on September 30, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A Graveside and Committal Service will take place at Dale Cemetery, 33500 45th St, Shawnee, OK 74804, US, on October 1, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:15 am.
