

LOIS NADINE (HAUG) JORDAN began her life’s journey on November 21, 1939 in Bentonville Arkansas. She passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born to Carlos Theodore Haug and Viola Mary (Wick) Haug. She was the eighth of nine children. She and her family moved to Shawnee in 1947 where she attended Irving elementary school and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1958. It was there she met Jerry Levi Jordan, whom she married on September 20, 1958. Growing up, Lois and her family were active members in the First Christian Church on Broadway in Shawnee, where she was married.
After marriage, Lois and Jerry worked for a short time at Western Electric in Oklahoma City. Lois began her banking career at the Morris Plan in Shawnee. She was a loan officer at First Federal Savings and Loan for many years and met so many community members processing their home loans. She later moved to BancFirst and became a Vice-President. She completed business and accounting courses at Seminole Junior College and Real Estate lending courses from the University of Chicago. She was a member of the Shawnee Board of Realtors, the Business and Professional Women’s Association, Fair Housing Authority Committee, and the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce Welcoming Committee. Lois retired from her career in mortgage lending in 1993.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son, Gary Don Jordan. As well as several of her siblings: Estelene Kennemer, Delbert Haugh, Evelyn Carson, JoAnn Odom, Wanda Corrigan, Melba McCullar.
Lois is survived by her daughter Lisa and husband Jeff Wright of Shawnee, grandchildren Jennifer and husband Chris Edwards of Norman, Kim Jordan of Tecumseh, Ethan Wright and Austin Wright. Great grandchildren Malachai Tramble and MacKenzie Edwards. Siblings: Margaret Newsom, Jim Haig and wife Mona. Brother-in-law Harold Newby. As well as, several nieces and nephew, too many to mention!
Her family would like to give special thanks to Lois’ niece, Cathy for transportation to the beauty shop because we all know how important that trip was to her every week! As well as, appreciation to Lois’ “girls”, Tracy Taylor and Stephanie Bryant. They kept her and her property looking beautiful but more importantly to her daughter, they were her buddies and listeners for her to talk with and kept her spirits up. They were family to Lois.
Special thanks also to Lois’ Day Nurse, Virginia and the Cohesive Hospice team that helped Lois near the end of her journey: Christy and Lauri.
Funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
