Marion Kay Hensley-Snake went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2021 surrounded by her family at home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born June 27, 1952 in Shawnee to Oscar Hensley and Kathleen Sheppard.
Marion graduated from Shawnee High School in 1970. She enjoyed spending time with family, spending time with the Lord, gardening, fishing, cooking, reading, nature walks, getting her hair and nails done,
martial arts, drawing, “Rockin out to music”, laughing with her daughters and son in laws, and hanging out with her best friend Dianna Garner. Marion was a third generation member of Liberty Baptist Church and also attended Life Church in Shawnee. Marion has achieved a third degree black belt in Taekwondo, being one of the first sentinel volunteers for the Shawnee Police Department, being “Grams” to her granddaughter Aubrey, and most importantly being the best mom in the world to her two daughters Julia and Yolanda.
Marion married her husband, Lewis Snake, in 2005 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, joining their two families together.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Kathleen Hensley, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her brother Donnie Sheppard.
Marion is survived by her husband Lewis Snake of Shawnee, daughter Julia Horn and husband Jimmy Horn of Shawnee; daughter Yolanda Cullison and husband Christopher Cullsion of Shawnee; granddaughter Aubrey Yahola of Shawnee; stepson Barry Snake and wife Pam Snake of Pell City, Alabama; stepson Stewart Snake and wife Tyann Snake of Del City; stepson Gerald Snake of Midwest City; stepdaughter Amber Snake of Newalla; six step grandchildren; best friend Dianna Garner; extended family of The Garners, Marla Lewis, Charles and Brandi Lewis and their children/grandchildren, and Kristen Porter.
