Mattye Sue Boyd

Longtime resident Sue Boyd (Sue Hawkins, Sue Suitor, Sue Collier) died in the presence of family on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

She was born May 3, 1937 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Orice & Thelma Boyd.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Phillip and Orice “Newt” Boyd; sister, Annie Laurie Boyd and son, Keith Anthony “Tony” Hawkins. Leaving his wife, Donna Hawkins; son, Austin Hawkins and family; daughter, Gena Rice and family. She is also survived by son, Rick Hawkins and wife, Dawn Hawkins; granddaughter, Mindi Eustace and husband, Rev. James Eustace; great granddaughters, Nora and Allie Eustace.

Sue worked fifteen years at Federal National Bank, now BancFirst. She left there as Vice President of Personnel, then she worked for nine and a half years at Oklahoma Tax Commission, leaving as Senior Tax Auditor.

Sue enjoyed many hobbies, including Stand- Up Comedy, Shawnee Little Theater, sewing, knitting, crocheting and other arts.

She was Worthy Matron of Murrow, 464 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was a also a member of St. Benedict Church in Shawnee. She left many friends, including the staff and friends at Brookdale Senior Living in Shawnee, who she shared life with over the past 17 years.
