Orlando A Diaz Sr.

Orlando served in the Airforce as a 1st Lieutenant. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Education from Phillips University. He taught at Armstrong College, Savannah High School, Benedictine All Boys Military School, St. Gregory’s College and retired from Shawnee High School.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Mildred (Mickey) Díaz; children: Susie Malone (Johnie) and Dr. Orlando A. (Lanny) Díaz, Jr. (Jeanie); grandchildren: Mark Malone (Angie), Michelle Hamilton (Micah), Taylor, Alex, Christian and Morgan Díaz; great grandchildren: Connor and Bryson Malone and Malachi Hamilton; brother, Amado Díaz (Gladys) of Savannah, Georgia; niece and nephew: Gretel Aboujaoude (Tony) of Miami, Florida and Carlos Díaz (Carolin) of Savannah, Georgia; sister-in-law, Kathy Epperson of Oklahoma City; and numerous extended family, friends and all of his students.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home with Brother Phil Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
