Rubye Loretta Reynolds, 92, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by love. She was born on October 17, 1933, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to William Pierce Welch and Audra (Kiethly) Welch. She graduated high school in 1951 and spent nearly all her life in Oklahoma, the place she loved and called home.
Rubye lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, faith, and simple joys. She was the beloved wife of three husbands—Harold Reynolds, Alva Mizzell, and Glen Ryerson—each of whom she cherished deeply. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base, where she proudly served as a civil servant, but her greatest and most treasured accomplishment was raising six children.
She found joy in quiet, peaceful moments: listening to gospel and old country music, sipping her morning coffee on the porch, reading her favorite books, and ending the day with a warm meal. Her perfect day was simple and beautiful—just like her spirit. Rubye loved hearing laughter in her home, especially when her children and grandchildren played with the animals. Those were the moments that made her heart full.
Her children say she taught them some of the most important lessons in life—how to love, how to be strong, and how to face the world with a smile and perseverance. They carry those lessons with them as her lasting gift.
Rubye wished to be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She truly was all of these and more. Her favorite color was blue, but the legacy she leaves behind is nothing short of golden—woven through the family she adored and the lives she touched.
Rubye is survived by her daughters, Virginia Maddox of Tecumseh, OK; Linda Yvonne Patterson of Tecumseh, OK; and Margaret Jeanine Stone of Seminole, OK. She is also survived by her son, Randy Paul Ryerson and wife Janna of Tecumseh, OK. She is also survived by a large family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Audra and William Welch; three husbands, Harold Reynolds, Alva Mizell, and Glen Ryerson. She is also preceded in death by two sons, Marvin Ray Ryerson and Glendon Wayne Ryerson; her brother, William Welch; and sisters Bonnie Litle, Wanda Douglas, Vera Mchan and her husband James.
Rubye will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, her laughter, and the love she poured generously into her family. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
