Teresa Gaylinn “Gail” King, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, was born on October 17, 1958, in Shawnee to Lawrence A. Muzny and LaDonna Shaw Muzny. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1976 and spent most of her life in the Shawnee and Earlsboro area, with a brief chapter at Grand Lake, where she operated a restaurant. Gail found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved all kinds of music, from country and rock to classical, and baby blue was her favorite color. Her idea of a perfect day was sitting on the back porch with family and friends, sharing stories, reminiscing about the past, and catching up on the present. She also enjoyed playing cards and games, and winning always brought a little extra laughter and excitement. Above all, Gail will be remembered for her generous heart and willingness to help others. Whether someone needed a helping hand, financial support, or simply someone to count on, Gail was there whenever she could be. She also taught those around her the importance of forgiveness, leaving behind a lasting example of compassion, understanding, and love. Family meant everything to Gail, especially her son, Logan, whom she loved spending time with and caring for. She also shared a loving relationship with her longtime partner, David Swedberg, with whom she had been in love since 2013. Gail is survived by her son, Logan; her longtime partner, David Swedberg; her honorary son, Justin Baptiste, and his wife, Misty, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; her brother, Mike Muzny, and his wife, Pam, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her close nephew, Zach Muzny, and his wife, Aja, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her father, Larry Muzny of Shawnee, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; one grandchild and Donna White, a dear friend of the family. She was preceded in death by her mother, LaDonna Shaw James; her son, Justin Ian King; and brothers Charles “Chuck” Muzny and Larry Don Muzny and nephew Joshua Muzny. Gail leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, generosity, and forgiveness. She will be remembered for always being willing to help, her love of music and friendly competition, and the treasured moments spent surrounded by those she loved. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons she taught, and the countless lives she touched. Her place on the back porch may be empty, but the love and memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew her. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801, US, on October 15, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Graveside Service will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801, US, on October 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Committal Service in the same location.
