Theodore J. (Ted) Misa went to sleep in Jesus’ arms on Saturday July 3 rd, 2010 surrounded by his family. Ted was born on June 21 st, 1938, the youngest child and only son of Theodore and Antonette Misa.
Ted went to work for Wolverine Tube after high school and then enlisted in the US Army. Upon completion of his Army service he went back to Wolverine Tube while completing 3 years of college. Ted was working as senior scheduler for Wolverine when they relocated from Detroit to Shawnee, Oklahoma. Ted’s plan was to stay in Shawnee long enough to train someone for his position and return to Michigan, but his plan was revised when he met the love of his life, Patsy. In March of 1976, Ted married Patsy and her 6 children. Ted enthusiastically embraced every aspect of family life from day one.
Ted loved to travel by car plane or ship. And the scheduler in him loved planning vacation down to every restroom break nearly as much as the trip itself. Sometimes, Ted and Patsy traveled alone, but more often he included some or all of his children and or grandchildren in his many adventures. Ted was always up for a celebration, whether it was a graduation, birthday, holiday, or new baby. And his phenomenal memory recalled every birthday, anniversary or other special dates.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lillian.
Ted is survived by his wife Patsy, children Robin and John Weger, Debbie and Roxie Terry, Kelley and Lee Allen, Tracie and Bobby Neal, David and Vicky Misa, Mary-Anne Misa, and grandchildren Lori and Ryan Smith, Charles Mann, Sarah and Jeff Barham, Patrick and Kelly Buttram, Brian and Heather Weger, Jeff and Christina Mann, Amy and Braden Watkins, Johnna Weger, Kody Allen, Kaylee Allen, Sylvia Misa, Cassandra Misa, Elizabeth Neal, Andrew Neal, Heather Stretch, Johnny Stretch, Dena and Brandon Krautlarge, Destiny Terry and great-grandchildren Coby, Creed, Jaycee, Alex, Ethan, Jaxson, Ryder, Ledger, Chelsea, Raven, Buddy, Jake and AJ, and sisters Dorothy and Charlie Brinsden and Clara and Joe Surowick , and his dog Skipper.
