Wanda Lee Long

Wanda Lee Long, 84, of Shawnee went to be with the Lord Friday, September 9, 2016. She was born November 13, 1931 in Stigler, Oklahoma to William and Thelma Fenton. Wanda married the love of her life Dr. Merle Long on August 18, 1951 and raised 4 children. She graduated from Drumwright High School in 1949.

Wanda’s career includes type setting print, secretarial and accounting. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the biggest supporter to her husband of 65 years. She was also a faithful Christian who demonstrated her love for people by spending her time helping others.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; and brothers.

Wanda is survived by her husband; children: Steve Long (Kathy), Phil Long (Donna), Karen Nail (David) and Michael Long; grandchildren: Stephanie Litherland (Eric), Zakary Long (Juli), Phil Long Jr. (fiancé Tyler Palmore), Terry Long (Joyce), Chris Nail, Aaron Nail and Dylan Long; sister Claryce McWhirter; brother Fyrel Fenton; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Resthaven Funeral Home with Terry Long officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
