Weldon Leon Beasley passed away Monday December 3, 2012 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Leon was born September 25, 1926 to Henry Walter and Ethel Leona (Johnson) Beasley. He was raised near Devol, Oklahoma and graduated from Devol High School. He graduated from Oklahoma A&M (OSU) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Leon joined the Navy and served during WWII. He married Norma Delaine “Bobbie” Barker and they raised 4 children. They enjoyed several family vacations visiting national parks, all fifty states, and a few provinces in Canada. Leon began working for ONG in 1952 and retired as a district operating manager in 1986. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Shawnee Traffic and Safety Committee, Elks Lodge #657 life member, American Legion, AARP, and ONGoers. His children and grandchildren fondly remember his generosity, honesty, wisdom, and his ability to "fix anything". He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ethel Beasley, and his brother, Augdon Beasley. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Beasley, children, Pam Finley, Shawnee, Debbie Wilsie and husband Jim, Shawnee, Steve Beasley, Flower Mound, Texas, and Judy Gentry and husband Carey, Granbury, Texas; Grandchildren, Brian Finley and wife Jamie, Chad Wilsie and wife Carisa, Amy Area and husband Blake, Scott Beasley and Dara Courtright, Carly Beasley, Kyle Beasley, Todd Gentry and wife Lyndsey and Cara Pearson and husband Curtis. Great Grandchildren Ryan Herron, Parks Finley and Rhett Pearson, and sister-in-law, Mickie Beasley. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Shawnee, OK. Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
