William Lloyd Estes of Shawnee, Oklahoma, departed this life on January 17, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born November 13, 1952, to Edison B. Estes and Katherine Lloyd Estes in Milan, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kathy Hayes “Cissy” Estes; and his brother, Stuart Hardison Estes. He is survived by his son, Gant Estes and wife, Heather, of Edmond, Oklahoma; his daughter, Amy K. Estes, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his son, Maxwell R. King and wife, Carissa, of Hudson, Wisconsin; and his daughter, Rachel L. Estes, of Hudson, Wisconsin; grandchildren Devin McMahan, Avery Estes, Will Estes, and Hadley Estes; his niece, Ann Pearce; his sister, Elaine Armenio, of Little Elm, Texas; his nephew, Jesse Armenio, of Dallas, Texas.
He graduated from Ardmore High School Class of ‘71 and later graduated from Oklahoma City University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He had a long-standing career in the tire industry that brought opportunities to live throughout the United States. Lloyd was active in Free Life where he acted as treasurer, chaired numerous meetings and encouraged many newcomers.
His hobbies included watching sports, playing golf, buying cars, and planning for the next meal. Lloyd had an infectious laugh and smile, always had a new or old joke, never met a stranger, loved his family, and adored his grandchildren and loved to talk about them.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Flowers may be sent to Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
