

Shawnee resident Willie Ray Davis, 72, passed from this life on May 22, 2011. He was born to Joe & Elva Davis on September 8, 1938, and grew up in Havana, AR. Willie met the love of his life, LaVon Ledford, and they married in August 1963. He graduated as an Electronics Technician in Dallas, TX in 1963. He worked at the Sylvania plant in Shawnee until it closed, then became self-employed as a Trim Carpenter/Cabinet Maker. While working as a trim Carpenter/Cabinet Maker, he found his lifetime career in heat and air. He opened a successful business that is still living thriving today. He found the most joy in life in his kids and grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Elva Davis, mother-in-law Inez Ledford, a brother Orval Joe Davis, a sister-in-law Laquita Legarda and a niece Vickie Diane Coker.
He is survived by his wife LaVon; two children, a daughter Tammy Blackwood and husband Kenny, a son Jamie Davis and wife Kimberly; Four grandchildren, Kenna and Kameron Blackwood, and Dakota and Harley Davis all of Shawnee; A sister Ruby Nell Davis-York of Ada; Father-in-law Herbert Ledford and sister-in-law Dianna Ledford, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 27th, 2011 at Resthaven Chapel at 10:00AM. Officiating is Reverend Larry Sparks, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM
