

Allen Alvey, 55, of Louisville died at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Fort Hood, Texas to Paul A. Alvey and the late Anna M. Alvey. Allen was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna M. Alvey and his brother, Thomas Eugene Alvey. He is survived by his son, Travis Alvey (Mandie); grandchildren, Brayden Alvey, Leighton Alvey and due in December, Juliana Alvey; father, Paul Alvey (Margaret); sister, Kim Alvey (Donna); niece, Anna Grace Alvey; stepsisters , Debbie Baggett (Anthony), Ruby Goldsmith (Billy); stepbrother, Billy Young; cousin, caregiver and "the fun sister," Michelle Watson and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He worked as a carpenter until January 2017. In his free time, he liked to work around his house doing home improvements and yard work. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends in any way he could. He loved to cook and was an avid Judge Judy fan.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, August 20, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 1 pm until 8 pm. Special thanks to Hosparus of Louisville.
