It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dearest Allison Gonzalez. She made a peaceful transition on September 17, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Glendale, KY, on June 26, 1977. Allison was awarded her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Louisville where she went on to fulfil a long, purposeful professional journey. She finished her career at Cedar Lake Park Place and Sycamore Run where she loved helping her individuals grow and achieve all of their goals. She was a passionate Zumba instructor of 5 years, preaching health and fitness at several Crunch locations around Louisville. Beloved by her students, Allison was known for her high energy, positive attitude, and uplifting classes. Practicing what she preached as a fitness instructor, she would always love to hike and witness nature, occasionally indulging in fine wines and endless treats while walking through the streets of Disney World, one of her absolute favorite destinations. As an avid supporter of her kids and their extracurriculars, Allison was always the first to step up when needed at dance competitions and wrestling tournaments. Her impact on Connie's Dance Studio, River City Wrestling Club, and the Central High School Wrestling Team will always be remembered. Allison had a knack for always finding the best in everybody she came in contact with, and will forever be remembered as a wonderful wife, mom, grammie, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is preceded by her grandparents Thomas and Alyne Hodges, William and Anne Coffey, and Lillian Monin (Mons) She is survived by her husband, Hector Gonzalez, Jr.; children, Gabe Higgins, Ely Higgins, Caitlin Hartin, Carsen Roe, Aiden Roe and Evan Roe; step children Elena Eded (Kaleb) and Vicente Gonzalez; parents, Jennifer and Gary Coffey; grandchildren, Elizabeth Higgins, Alexander Higgins, and Chance Higgins; sister, Kristi Hornback; her four legged baby boy Copper; and many loving family members and friends.
The wake and funeral service will be held at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville) The wake will be held from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, September 25th, 2026 followed by a final viewing held on September 26, 2026 from 9:00am to 10:00am. The funeral service is to start at 10:00am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home with burial to follow at Glendale Christian Church Cemetery (119 E. Main St., Glendale). We will be holding a memorial walk for her at Iroquois park on Sunday, September 27th, 2026 starting at 10:00am from the entrance near the amphitheater on New Cut Road.
