Mrs. Barbara Ann Van Metre Gore, age 88, of Louisville, entered eternal life on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Barbara was a retired dental assistant and loved spending time at the lake. Above all, she loved her family and spending her time with them.
In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Garland “Gene” Gore and her brother, Roger Van Metre preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Kathy Bischoff (Bruce); son, Perry Gore (Denise); grandchildren, Jennifer Coleman (Alex), Heather Kingsolver (Thad) and Christopher Bischoff; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Karli, Griffin, Grayson, Zay, Scarlett, Conner and Noah and a host of other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville) with entombment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, September 28, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of her service at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
