Barbara Lynn West

Mrs. Barbara Lynn West, age 72, of Fairdale, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 5, 2023 with her family by her side.  Barbara was born in Louisville, KY on July 27, 1951, to the late John “Jack” Kinberger and Dorothy (Carbone) Kinberger. Barbara retired from Metro Louisville after 30 years of service, she held many different jobs during that tenure. She was a graduate of Fairdale High School class of 1969, and from Eastern Kentucky University where she was a member of Chi-Omega Sorority, she was a catholic by faith and a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Barbara enjoyed volunteering for many different organizations over the years, she liked her pottery classes, exercise and fitness, her home on the lake at Nolin and all her lake family. She also liked reading and her yearly girl trip to Destin Beach Florida, but most of all she loved her family and her grandchildren who she was known simply as “Nona”, she was “The Rock” of her family and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Dorothy Kinberger.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 50 years, Jack West, Jr., her two sons, Brent West (Luisa), and Ryan West ( Megan), two grandchildren, Noah West, and Caleb West, four siblings, Linda Marcum (Eddie), Johnny Kinberger (Kathy), Debbie Mullins (Ron), Mary Ann Kinberger-Byerly (Nate), along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Cremation was Chosen.
